History Just as all of the best trainers or " Chalans" of Peru over the past 400 years, Aurelio learned his skills from two of the most highly respected Chalans: Sexto Chavez and Luis Perez La Rosa. Aurelio was awarded the title of “Maestro Chalan” by the Peruvian National Association of Breeders of Peruvian Paso Horses in Lima, Peru for his outstanding achievement of winning the National Enfrenadura Reining contest - three times. He is the only trainer in the United States to have earned this title. This accomplishment represents his exceptional skills, patience and natural gift of harmony with horses. After coming to the United States and prior to opening Green Oaks Ranch, Aurelio used these skills to bring champions to the show ring for breeders such as Paso Creek Ranch, Westview Farms and JNE Ranch. His work included developing the championship styles of AEV La Briego, India Bella, FG Candela, and Carinoso JNE (to name just a few). Aurelio’s background in the Enfrenadura has made him a
natural for training horses in all disciplines and is especially well adapted to
performance training. Since the establishment of Green Oaks Ranch in 1998,
horses trained and managed by Aurelio have consistently won and placed well in
all types of performance and pleasure classes, from Juniors to Champion
Performance Horse, bringing pleasure and satisfaction to both Aurelio and our
clients. Some of Aurelio’s finished trainees who have brought home Blue Ribbons and Performance Championships include Champion of Champions FOX Amanecer, MCD Emperatriz de Roma, Champions, MLM picasso de Tejas, LS Granolia, JNE Seductor , JRU Alianza, Carrique CSF and Privelegio JNE and FOX AMANECER. Other alumni are competing and placing well in all pleasure classes, including Juniors. Some have gone to work in Sheriff's posses and even rehabilitation for handicapped children! It is a great pleasure for us to see horses trained here working successfully with their owners.

Aurelio
